What a party it was to be working on Devconnect 2022 Amsterdam! we are very happy to take you on the journey from application to realization.
Application
13 January we received an application via Bee Agency for an event at the Beurs van Berlage (BvB).
It was an event for the Ethereum Foundation called Devconnect 2022. It would be the first Devconnect event and all this for the first time in the Netherlands! Thousands of visitors were expected from all over the world. It would be 1 overall location the Co-working space, in the BvB and 2 other locations where partners could host their events.
We were asked to consider the decor items and furniture for the Co-working Space and the 2 other locations that would be provided with the same atmosphere and corporate style.
In other words a very nice and special request, which we have been very happy to work on!
Design & Customization
Bee Agency worked with a designer who developed the entire visual identity. During the application it was still in full development after which a cool corporate style of cubes with different colors and degrees was created.
For us the question to put a nice and relaxed atmosphere that should not feel corporate. However, it was very important that around 1200 people could work together in the BvB and that the same atmosphere would come back in all spaces and locations. On this basis, we started to decorate the rooms.
Finally, we have almost the entire BvB equipped with furniture and 800 cubes in various sizes & colors. Besides the BvB we have 7 other locations (Pakhuis de Zwijger, West Indisch Huis, Tolhuistuin, Westergas, Grand hotel Krasnapolsky & Felix Merites) can provide furniture, decoration and well-known custom cubes.
It event
April 16th was the time and we started the construction in the BvB with 18 men. In total, we have:
- 3 very long days built in different locations.
- with more than 18 trailers in volume (mostly in locations where no trailers can come😉) drove back and forth.
- more than 1500 cubes built
- especially a lot of laughs with each other!
The events and the co-working space were visited even better than expected. We have received many nice reactions from the organization and visitors.
During the event we searched for posts on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, but there was little to nothing to find, it turned out that the target group only uses Twitter! There were very nice reactions to this, of which we were naturally very happy. Below a small selection of messages.
