Olympics Summer event with 4000 visitors

Olympics Summer event with 4000 visitors

Imagine that. You work at a big, internationally successful company. And your employer is organizing your own festival! The Coachella at the corporate parties. Over 4,000 enthusiastic employees experienced it last June. By order of Brownys we, again this year, were allowed to dress the event! Check here what kind of cool things we've put down and how the process went down.

About the event

An own festival at event location EXPO Greater Amsterdam. The perfect location with both indoor and outdoor possibilities. In addition there is all space, with 24,000 m2 of surface! So we could put something super fat together with Brownies!

Theme Olympics

Big event = big theme!

And with 2024 as a sports summer we became equally enthusiastic about the theme of the Olympic Games. Based on the corporate colors, designed specifically for this event, the design team started working on a moodboard. Our first design is largely based on the Summer Olympics of 1984. Hence we have worked with large elements, color and graphic prints.

Furthermore, several terraces and buffets were based on countries where the Olympic Games were held during previous editions. At the centre
Parisian Bistro terrace, including Eiffel Tower and Fountain, as a reference to the location of the Games this year. Below are a number of examples of how the theme has been processed:

  • Sports activities, such as the track used as an entrance, a real BMX track, Jeu de Boules tracks, a wipe-out track and much more. These activities were organised in cooperation with various suppliers.
  • Besides the active areas there was also a health corner, where one could charge, both through yoga, a delicious juice, or by relaxing in the chilly loungeubular.
  • In addition, a matching menu was compiled by our regular partner Hete Pepper Catering, including typical pita pomelos from Athens (2004), but also paella from Barcelona (1992), schnitzels from Munich (1972) and delicious pizza pies from Rome (1960)!
  • The recognizable graphic elements, such as the rings of the Olympic Games, have been processed in various ways.

Timeline event output

In order to prepare an event of this size, we first started internalizing the team. We worked with a designer, two technical designers and two project managers.

How'd the trajectory go?

  • In March we started with the first brainstorm and working out the moodboards.
  • We made no less than nine versions of the 3D impressions. We made sure all the artwork was put into production.
  • The workers made sure that the work vouchers were in the workshop on time with our team and they could get started.
  • Because the location was the same as the previous year, no location check was needed.
  • The weather forecasts for June were rather fluctuating, making it necessary to consider several bad weather scenarios. Luckily it wasn't necessary because both during the up and down days and during the event the weather was beautiful and the sun shone full.
  • During the production meeting, 2 weeks before the event, we were still in the blubber with our boots.
  • We have built a total of three days to prepare this Summer event for visitors.

Strong sample of customisation

Although this event took place in one of the busiest periods of the year, there is absolutely nothing to notice in the design. Our designers have come up with really great concepts. What really jumped out? Look at three concepts below:

1. Customized Bars
The bars not only had to be creative and let all colors and styling elements come back from the theme, but also provide plenty of space for the caterer and among other things have plenty of refrigerators. In the middle bar even a huge double beer tank had to be placed! How do you get rid of this when the caterer can get to it? With custom built stand walls!

2. Food Disco Fairy Bread buffet
With the necessary pink glitter, disco balls and performances of talented drag queens, via Krokant Agency, this event also asked for a delicious buffet for the sweet delicacies. And so you suddenly stood next to a pink ballbox discodipating your soft ice cream!

3. Creative design food street
How do you make a 68 meter long food buffet in a tent look great? By printing wooden boards with a cool colored print, you give the buffet a unique and fresh look.

Super collaboration with Brownys

We are not surprised that this event went smoothly again! We've been working super nicely with Brownys for years; one of our regular partners/clients for gift, big events. We are in line with vision, creativity and professionalism. And... they're just nice people! For this event we worked a lot together with Noor van Bergen and Bram van Beek.

Brownys speaking

For this event, we (Brownys) started designing an overall look & feel with decor builders, starting with the design of the mainstage and various gates spread over the terrain. After the first designs were made, we shared them with Boozed and asked if they could respond by using similar designs and colors for the bars, food stations and other furniture. We can only say that Boozed has once again come up with very cool designs to make the terrain a whole, making the whole look & feel right. This event we worked with Sifra; It's always nice working with her. We know each other well by now, allowing us to switch quickly, effectively (and with pleasure!) to make the event process as smooth as possible."
