As a B Corp we are excited to participate in the take-back program for vinyl from JMT Floorcoverings! This project fits seamlessly with our sustainability mission and the pursuit of a circular economy. By participating in this pilot, we not only invest in our own green ambitions, but also work on a system that, if successful, can be widely rolled out to inspire and motivate other companies.
Test phase and collection process
The current test phase is essential. We work closely with JMT Floorcoverings to develop an efficient method for collecting and recycling vinyl. It is a period of trial and error, in which we examine and improve every part of the process.
Our goal is to refine every aspect of the process and minimize our ecological footprint. We have taken innovative steps, such as using waterproof big bags to collect vinyl, which are clearly labelled for easy identification and recycling. These big bags are stored on euro pallets and then collected by JMT Floorcoverings for transport and recycling, carefully planning routes to reduce environmental impact
The 7 Redemptions of Sustainability
Our partnership with JMT Floorcoverings highlights our commitment to the 7 Sustainability Guidelines: Reduce (Reduce), Reuse (Reuse), Recycle (Recycle), Repair (Repair), Rethink (Reduce), Refuse (Remove) and Regift (Redon).
By participating in this pilot, we not only demonstrate our commitment to sustainability, but also take a leading role in the transition to a circular economy. We are optimistic about the potential of this program and are determined to make it a success, not just for us and JMT Floorcoverings, but as an example for the whole industry.
Update September 2024
Since our pilot with JMT Floorcoverings, the vinyl take-back program has become a great success! Several partners of JMT Floorcoverings have been hooked up, transforming large quantities of vinyl into new raw materials. We are, of course, extremely proud to have contributed to this.
