Creativity in crisis time

We've been around 200 days since the first corona measures were imposed.

But events/no events; 100 visitors/30 visitors; fairs/no scholarships; mouth caps/no mouth caps...

It is difficult to establish a level of what will be the next measure, but one thing remains unchanged: The one and a half meter measure.

What initially began with cutting a double bench, sliding the two halves apart and inserting a scaffolding tube, has become almost a separate design branch.

Many concepts were developed within the industry and the catering industry. A number of these were widely taken up by the media, and then we were asked whether we could also do this. But Boozed wouldn't be Boozed if we didn't want to make a stubborn wink.

It is a process of falling and getting up, sometimes also of failure, starting again and going on again!

For example, a one and a half meter bitterball-serving board looked very nice, but the thing was so heavy that even a gym type chef couldn't walk around for more than 5 minutes. Back to the drawing board.

Sometimes, adapted measures were also throwing soot in the food. We had at the end of a week 70 "corona hoops" ready for an event on Monday. Personally burned in the customer's corporate colors. Hip and stylish, as far as a hoop can be. A new press conference at night, and the event was canceled. Unfortunately, that too happens.

Corona also gave the possibility and need to brainstorm freely about possible solutions. This has produced many ideas. Some ideas worked, others didn't.

It is also nice to see how such an idea ultimately becomes reality.

The Handwasherette is based on a Lego-Meme that was already going around at the end of March. The shopping cart is of course mandatory everywhere, so we could also do something with that.

As a designer, you're always doing your job, looking everywhere with different eyes. So are our designers. They have the most beautiful profession, but it never ends. They can't sit still. When they have little to do for a while, they get bored and they come up with things to keep busy. Creativity never stops, although of course we look forward to the future. Which will probably bring new problems and solutions.
